Wa`a
(Canoe)

Inspired by the voyages of their ancestors, Leilehua and Manu interpret the Polynesian sailing canoe on this 8" X 24" Malama Sconce in copper.

The Polynesian sailing canoe is a seaworthy vessel. Able to sail close to the wind, it impressed Capt. James Cook and other European seamen with its craftiness and agility under sail and paddle. The canoe shaped the Polynesian people as much as the people shaped their canoes.

These Malama electrical sconces are hand-hammered copper.  At 8" by 24", they make a dramatic frame for an entry. They can be made to face each other, or to all face one way, depending on the design of the area they will be located.
